5 Products That Save My Skin While Flying

Being a flight attendant can be amazing in a lot of ways, but one not so amazing thing about it is how harsh spending so many hours on an airplane can be on my skin. Working on an airplane at least 80 hours a month, most of the time wearing a full face of makeup can be rough… so here’s a few skincare products that I’ve learned to love and use on my face when I’m on the go.

1. Mario Badescu Rose Water

Mario Badescu Rose Water is by far my favorite and most used product when I travel. I love this stuff because not only does it smell good, but it works to keep my face hydrated and moisturized throughout a flight. Whether I’m wearing makeup or not, you can spritz this rose water spray on your face every hour or so to keep your face from feeling too dry or greasy. If you do happen to be wearing makeup while traveling, this stuff also works as a setting spray. Sometimes I spray it throughout the flight and while my face is still moist, pat down dry with a tissue paper. Thanks Mario!

2. Aquaphor Lip Balm

I’ve used a lot of different lip balms, chapsticks and moisturizers in my day, but my favorite is aquphor when I’m in up the air. It makes my lips look like I have lipgloss on, and hydrates and repairs my dry and chapped lips quicker than any other product I’ve used.

3. Trader Joes Face Moisturizer

Having a good face moisturizer is the key to healthy skin. I like to put this one from Trader Joe’s on everyday because not only is it moisturizing and filled with antioxidants but it also has a little spf to keep me protected from the sun. This moisturizer will leave your skin feeling smooth and silky but not shiny. YAY. I like to put it on right after I wash my face each morning and before I put my makeup on, or just by itself if I don’t end up wearing makeup (which I try to do at work so my skin can actually breathe). This is very comparable to Olay’s daily moisturizer I used to buy

4. Tarte Marucuja Oil

I originally got this Marucuja Oil with my ipsy subscription, and it came in the perfect little bottle that was ideal for travel. This hydrating oil can be used on your face for long flights, perfect right before you take a nap or watch a movie. It’s not just for skin though! You can even use it in your hair to moisturize your split ends or throughout  from your ends to roots to keep it from getting frizzy. Just remember, a little goes a long way.

5. Garnier Micellar Water

This Micellar water isn’t just for removing makeup, you can swipe it over your face with a cotton round when you get on the plane and throughout the flight to clean and refresh your skin. From what I’ve read, the idea is that micelles are attracted to dirt and oil, so this powerful water is able to draw out impurities without drying out the skin. Basically, micellar water is a facial wash, makeup remover, toner and moisturizer all in one. A must have for those long flights that leave your skin feeling dirty, dry and gross. They sell these in travel size bottles too so you can bring them on the airplane.

Side note:  micellar water works great for cleaning your makeup brushes too!

So what are your favorite products to use when you travel??  Let me know what you use to keep your skin feeling refreshed and clean inflight so I can give them a try!
